Well I am determind this week to get back into my blogging even if it means sitting up half the night lol!!!! So to kick off this week I decided to get the Pollycraft Challenge done which was Monochrome. You had to make a card using just tones of 1 colour. I chose Brown.........The striped paper is from HOTP Wedding Stack, & the swirl paper is a Pollycraft download. The ribbon is recycled from a box of chocolates. The top flower is a mixture of Papermania & a magazine freebie. The bottom flower is again 2 Papermania petals with a gold filigree & gem from my stash. I have coloured in my Sharing Sherbert using a mixture of Tombow, MLP & Whisper pens. I added stardust stickles to her wings & all the stars.I took the papers through to the inside of the card but layed them different to the outside as I was short of the stripey paper. I added the ribbon although you can only just see it. The flower is made up the same as the one on the front. x Clare xx

Challenge 12 at Daisy & Dandelion
This week at Daisy & Dandelion we have a great sketch for you by our lovely Hazel. Unfortunately we are 2 DT members down this week as they are both away. But as usual the girls have come up some great cards. We have the option this week of using the theme of recycling to add to your sketch.I have used my trusty Picnic Patch papers on this card & a piece of HOTP wedding paper. Using my pierceability & some gold thread I have created the stitching down the sides of the panel. The image is a Marshmallow Diecut & I have just chopped of his feet lol!!! The flowers were recycled from a card that I had received. The text is from the new diecut messages that are now available.I have taken the sketch through to the inside of the card but reversed the way the papers were used. The piccy of marshmallow is just a different layer of the diecut decoupage & again the flower has been recycled.
I hope you can all find the time to pop over to the DT blogs to have a look at their cards too & maybe join us this week by entering a card xx Clare x

Apologies
Before I post this week's DT card for Daisy & Dandelion I would like to say a huge Sorry for being so behind with visiting friend's blogs at the moment. I have had to take a break from blogging this past week just to try & recharge my batteries & get some other things sorted like the dreaded H word xx

Challenge 11.......Circles
We had some amazing projects created over at Daisy & Dandelion last week & the DT loved looking round your blogs. This week we thought we would ask you to add circles to your cards. I got hold of some of the new stamps this week & just had to have a play using Onion playing football.Being a True Blue I had to get my blue pens out to colour Onions football shirt which basically gave me the theme for my card. I used Clare's sketch from a couple of week's back (I so love your sketches hun) & it worked perfectly. I stamped a couple of extra footballs using the ball from the set. The papers as usual are from the Picnic Patch pad (I have now added a 3rd pad to my collection as I was beginning to run low). The ribbon is from a show that I went to last year & the gems from my stash. The banner in the bottom corner is the flag from the set cut down.I took the sketch through to the inside minus the gems & stamped another Onion & cut him down adding him to the left of the card.
The DT have really created some stunning cards this week & would love it if you wandered over & had a look at their blogs. You can find their links at the top of my sidebar. x

A Spoon Full of Sugar....... Birthday Celebrations
Happy Birthday to everyone at A Spoon Full of Sugar. The blog is 1 year old this week & to celebrate they are giving prizes to 5... yes you heard me right.... 5 lucky winners. The prizes are amazing so what are you waiting for... get your card into their challenge. Their challenge this week is a card for a celebration. I decided to do an Engagement card.I was really pleased with the way my Cherry Kisses card came out the other day so decided to use the same layout. The image is Milly & Jack by Pink Gem Designs & I have coloured using my usual mixture of pens. The card is Papermania but I don't know the name of it.The flourish is cut from a scrap of lilac card I had in my scrap box & I added some gems to it. The flower is a mixture of Prima, Papermania & a Dovecraft jewelled charm. I am so in love with these charms. The ribbon is from my stash & the sentiment is made using white peel offs coloured in with a yellow OHP pen.I didn't have enough of the Papermania card left to be able to take the sketch through to the inside of the card so I chose to add the flourish & gems to the left of the card & on the right I added a panel of the card & a panel of ivory paper. I added the ribbon across the bottom x

A couple of cards
Here are a couple of cards I have made..just for something different. The first card is a kit from the Aimee Asher site.I don't tend to do these card kits very often as I feel I am cheating but occassionally I need a break from all that thinking lol!! I added my own touch by creating the stand from an offcut of Papermania scrapbook card, & I drew round a stand that a friend had sent me from a card. I added liquid pearls & stickles to the wings of the butterfly. To make the back I printed out another sheet & used the backing paper & butterfly. I added the ribbon & cut a circle of white paper which I just slotted behind the ribbon.
The other card I have made is using a decoupage sheet that I have made. The artwork is by Trina.I have used a Basic Grey backround. I used a layer of lilac card which I bugged using my swiss dots. I added the decoupage & added gems to the centres of the flowers. I also added gems to the corners. The ribbon is from my stash & I added a sticker to the centre of this. The flowers is made up from Papermania flowers & a Dovecraft jewelled charm. The sentiment is from the decoupage sheet. On the inside of the card I reduced the size of the decoupage & cut out the bottom layer. I added some more Basic Grey & created a pocket from the lilac card, which again I bugged using swiss dots. The tag was made using a rectangle of paper, & I attached the ribbon using a brad. Again the sentiment was from the sheet.
If you would like to purchase the sheet you can find it here . x Clare xx

N is for Not a Card
Over at ABC Challenge this week they are doing N is for Not a Card. Well I couldn't help myself.... I just had to make another window hanger lol!!! You will have to excuse the quality of the photo, it was THAT time of day xxI cut a large circle of card, then using my faithful Picnic Patch papers I cut two smaller circles. This time I decided to use my Cherry Kisses digistamp again, coloured with the usual pens. I added stardust stickles to the hearts on the bags, the sole of her shoes & the spots on her top. The flowers are by Scrappycat & were stamped using my Stazon, then cut out & glittered in their centres. I coloured gold peel offs with a red OHP pen. I then ran the completed hanger through my laminator & cut round using my circle cutter. xx Clare x

Buttons Galore, Letters & Numbers
I have managed to create a card using 2 challenges so I actually feel as if I have achieved something this week. Over at ASFOS this week they are asking you to use Buttons on your cards. I never tend to use buttons on my cards, not sure why as I have loads of the things, so this was a nice challenge for me to do, although you will probably laugh when you see the actual size of the buttons I have used lol!! Also at CCT this week they are asking you to use letters or numbers on your cards. This card I have used 2 sentiments on my card. I love the sketch that Clare came up with at D&D last week & just had to use it again to make this card.I used a sheet of my fave papers at the moment, the D&D picnic patch. I added some blue mottled card from my stash & layered a card mat onto this. I am loving these mats, they really add something to your card. I added heart brads to the centres of the flowers on the mat. The "New Baby" & "cutest boy" sentiments along with the circles that the buttons are on are all from a sheet of accent stickers by Papermania. The ribbon & flowers are from my stash. The buttons I ended up removing from some flower embellishments that I had floating about in a drawer. The teddy is a Magnolia image that I was sent & I coloured him in using my usual pens (details at end).I decided to only use the paper, card & mat through to the inside. I think it is just enough to give a centrepiece to the inside of the card. xx Clare x

Anything But A Card.....
Thank you to everyone that took part in Challenge 9 over at Daisy & Dandelion last week. The winner of the prize draw will be announced later so don't forget to go & check. On to this week's challenge... Anything but a card. We want you to come up with some fab ideas as long as it isn't a card. The DT have worked extremely hard this week & come up with some great creations. Here's mine....I decided to create a window hanger for either indoors or in the back of a car. I cut out three circles, one of card as my base, then two smaller ones from my Picnic Patch Paper pad. I added my diecut decoupage base layer of Marshmallow. I stamped the flower that Bubbles holds three times with my Stazon inkpad, coloured with wine coloured Whispers Dual pen & added pink glitter glue to the centres. I coloured some gold peel offs with an purple overhead projector pen. Once I had created the plate using doublesided tape, I ran it through my laminator, then punched a hole through the top & added a small plastic window sucker xx Clare x
Cherry Kisses
As a subscriber of the Pollycraft Newsletter I received a free image this week from the new Cherry Kisses release & she is just adorable. I had to use her straight away so I have used her for Challenge 15 which is flowers.I used a 6x6 square card & layered it with this adorable flower paper that my dear friend Clare sent me. I have added this fab flourish which is part of a Sizzix flower diecut. I added tiny heart gems to give it a bit of bling. The ribbon is created from a satin ribbon with a organza bow, both from my stash. The flower is made up of a Prima Painterly Petals, a Papermania flower & a Dovecraft jewelled charm. The centre brad is from Craftwork. I embossed a piece of card with my swiss dots & cut with my oval nesties. Cherry Kisses has been watercoloured with Tombows, MLP & Whispers Pens(colours at the end of the post). The Special Wishes sentiment stamp is from the new D&D Birthday Collection available from the Glitter Pot.I have taken part of the sketch through to the inside of the card.
I should be back later with this week's D&D challenge which is great fun this week, so hope to see you all later. xx Clare x

Daisy & Dandelion Challenge #9 - Sketch By Clare
Over at Daisy & Dandelion this week we have another fabulous sketch by Clare. We have the optional theme of "Just For You". To celebrate the blog reaching 100 followers, I am offering a prize to one lucky winner, (but we are keeping it secret). So here is my card....I am really pleased with the way this card turned out as I am not too much of a fan of stripes (ok 2 cards in a row lol!!!). I have stamped out Daisy using my Stazon & layered him onto a card mat. These will be appearing on my website next week. I layered this onto a bright red card. The stripes bp is from the D&D Picnic Patch pad. I have added tiny Kanban gems to my sequin flowers. The ribbon was from my stash. The flower was an embellishment that I got in a pack from Dunelms Mill shop when I was in Somerset. I am soooo gonna have to get my Mum to go & grab me some more as they were half price!!!. The stamp is from Cuddly Buddly & I inked it using my Whispers Dual pen.I took the sketch through to the inside of the card, just leaving off the ribbon & embellishment across the bottom. I stamped up another Daisy & just cut out part of her & placed her on the left of my card.
Don't forget to pop over & see the gorgeous cards created by my fellow DT members & it would be great to see you entering our challenge this week xx Clare x

Card for a Child
Over at Pollycraft this time, it has been Callum's 10th birthday, so he got to choose this challenge. After some debating with his Mum (Paula) they decided on a "Card for a Child". I decided I wanted to do something other than a birthday card so I did one of Pollycraft's decoupage sheets for a Baby Brother.I have taken an A5 card & layered some Urban Lily Midsummer paper. I added a square of HOTP paper. The bears, printed ribbon & sentiment are all from 4 paws fenmore set. I added 4 gems to the corners.I carried to the sketch through to the inside of the card.
Another Blog Award
Saturday, 2 May 2009
Oh Wow
Oh wow, I can't believe I have got another award this week. Huge hugs to my new blogging buddy Clare for this great award. I think it really makes you take a step back & reminds you why we all start crafting in the first place.
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award"
I am passing this award on to the following blogs

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #1
There is a brand new challenge blog that started this week called Sunday Sketch & Stamp. One of my fellow DT members over & the D&D challenge blog, Clare, is a member of the DT. They will be posting a sketch every other Sunday & the only other requirement is you must use a stamp. Here's my card.....This must be a first for me... I have used Pink twice in one week lol!!! The pink, black & lilac papers are from Kate Knight's Amethyst Floral Prints by Dovecraft. The blue oval is from a free pack from a magazine which I have cut & embossed using my oval nesties. I have used my Flower Garland in hair Tilda stamp which I have coloured in using my usual mixture of pens. The ribbons & flowers were both from my stash.
Again I have taken part of the sketch through to the inside of my card, using the same papers as on the front.

Sketch Saturday
I have used the sketch saturday challenge this week to create a card for my little man today. He will be 12 on Sunday. He probably won't thank me for putting his piccy up here, but it has to be done lol!!! Anyway onto his birthday card. He adores football, so I was determined that I could fit this sketch around it.The papers are all from a kit that I bought a few years ago & have never finished using. There certainly isn't much of it left nowlol!!! The image is from a cd by Kismet Creations called Generation TeXt that is available through my website. The ribbon & peel off are both from my stash. Here is a closer look at the sentiment although it doesn't photograph very well.I took part of the sketch & took it through to the inside of the card with a couple of footballs that I layered with foam pads.
Secret Crafter Challenge & DT Call
Over at Secret Crafter this week the challenge is for a shaped card. You also have the chance to enter their DT call. I don't do many shaped cards.... I really should make more of an effort to do these. Here's my entry....I cut a large circle in glossy card & a circle of scrapbook paper from my stash. I then printed 4 copies of the garden scene that came in March's Crafty Templates pack. I coloured using my Whisper's & MLPII pens, then cut out & decoupaged up. I added some Papermania gems to the centres of the flowers.
