Woohoo!!! Our First Challenge

Hi Everyone & welcome to our very first Challenge at Moving Along With The Times (MAWTT). This week we have a fabulous sketch by our very own DT Member Hazel. Along with the sketch we have the theme Strawberries & Cream with the option of Chocolate (yummy) . You can either do the colour challenge or the sketch or mix both together.
We have 2 fab prizes to give away this week too. I have donated a Pink Gem Design stamp Sailor Jack & our other resident sponser Julie has kindly donated a prize too.
So on with my card.....I found these fabulous papers that I had got free with a magazine & they were just perfect for this card. The image is Cherry Kisses by Pollycraft. I just adore this image & use her for so many different things. The flower is made from 2 Prima Painterly Petals, the leaves are from my stash & the brad is from a Dovecraft pack.I added a piece of red organza ribbon behind it too. The sentiment chipboard is also from my stash. The inside of the card was left fairly simple just using the freebie papers again.
Don't forget to pop over to see the other fab cards this week from the rest of the DT. They will love it if you leave a comment on their cards too xx Clare xx

1 Card........3 Challenges

It's not very often you can combine 3 challenges so I was really pleased when I realised I could combine these 3. Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar the theme is Weddings, so that was nice & easy. At ABC Challenge we have T is for....Two Tone. Well that was my colour scheme sorted. All I needed now was to find a sketch so I looked for Stamps & Smiles SASSC20. Here is the finished result......The papers are from my HOTP paper stack that I have had in my possession for a good few years. The image is an Anna Griffin stamp that I adore. Now I have turfed it out from the bottom of my box I know it will get used plenty again. I used my jet black Stazon to stamp with. The flourish is actually a peel off from Anita's. They really are great peel offs & I will certainly be getting some more of these. The sentiment is again a peel off from my stash. The flower is one of the irridescent flowers that I had in my stash & I pulled the stamens out of it. I then pulled the green ribbom from a ribbon rose & glued the 2 together to create a new rose. I added it to my card using glue gel.I added another rose image onto a circle of paper on the inside of the card & brought most of the sketch through. xx Clare x

Pollycraft & Sketch Saturday

Every time I think I am getting on top of things, something seems to happen to put me on the back foot again. So here I am again trying to play catch up. One day I will get ahead of myself or at least catch up to where I should be lol!!!! I have combined 2 challenges today to create the 1 card. Over at Sketch Saturday we have a fab sketch being sponsered by Simon Says...Stamp & I have combined it with the Diamonds/Gems.. Bling theme over at Pollycraft. The papers I have used are all freebies from magazines, which normally I don't tend to use but the quality of the papers seem to have improved so much recently. The image is a printable from Pollycraft called Maude in the Flowerpot. This image comes ready coloured so you just print it off. I have added gems from my stash & to give it a touch more bling I have used glitter glue on the star & Maude's bone collar. The centre of the flower has a peel off added. The sentiment is from D&D diecut message tags. I am not sure why the inside hasn't come out as well in this picture as it was taken at the same time. I have used the same papers as on the front of the card & have decoupaged the flower from Maude's flowerpot. Again the peel off adds a bit of Bling.

Don't forget tomorrow we launch the brand new Challenge Blog Moving Along with the Times. If you have not been over yet to sign up as a follower make sure you pop over tomorrow & have a go at the Challenge xx Clare x

Our Last Challenge at D&D

This week our challenge over at D&D is a sketch by Zoe with the theme Summertime. The girls have created some stunning cards this week, but we do have some sad news & exciting news. We have decided to close this blog as we feel our followers are too restricted just using D&D products........ but we are launching a brand new challenge blog next week. Zoe has worked really hard putting together Moving With the Times & we are all really excited about this new blog. Click on the link in my sidebar to have a look & sign up as a follower. xx Now on with my card.....I have used my D&D daisy paper in blue, the scalloped border is a freebie from a magazine & the square & oval are from HOTP. The button flowers are from my stash. I used the 2nd layer of Candyfloss diecut decoupage for my image. x Clare xx

Birthday Card & 2 Challenges

I have a friend's birthday on Sunday & managed to combine it with 2 challenges. I have used the sketch by Mandy over at Sketch Saturday & combined it with the theme of "Bling" over at Secret Crafter .I have used my Cherry Kisses digistamp & sprayed it with Ghiant fixative spray. I have then watercoloured using my pens which are listed at the end. The main paper was given to me by a friend (you know who you are). The corners & layers are from Papermania's Simply Elegant. The ribbons are from my stash as are the tiny flowers. The sentiment is a D&D diecut message tag & the bling flowers are some new peel offs by Anita's. I took the papers through to the inside & added the 3 little flowers again just so the left of the card wasn't left plain. xx Clare x

Gorgeous Sketch by Rach

Over at Just Magnolia this week the fabulous Rach has come up with a fab sketch. It looked fairly simple until I started trying to choose colours & images.I have used a combination of Basic Grey & HOTP Christmas papers. The ribbon & sentiment are also HOTP. The flowers are from my stash, something I've had knocking around for a couple of years & never used. The image is coloured with Tombow N55 & I have added Stardust Stickles to the wings. The only problem I find with these HOTP paper packs is there is never enough of each sheet to do the front & inside of the card so I had to juggle the sketch a bit to achieve the inside but I think it works pretty well. I stamped a second image & again coloured using my Tombow & stickles. x Clare xx

Stamps & Smiles.... SASSC18

Well I managed to get another challenge card done last night, another Father's Day card for my stock. I had to wait until this morning to photograph it though.I used a motorbike stamp from GCSArtstamps & coloured using my pens. I chalked round the edge of the stamp with my chalks. I layered onto doublesided scrapbook paper from my website. They can be found here . The dome stickers are from my stash & the message is from the D&D Message diecuts.I took the papers through to the inside of the card & again chalked the edge. I stamped another motorbike & added that to the inside too. x Clare xx

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Over at Cute Card Thursday this week the challenge is to get your diecuts & punches out. Well that was easy... yet another excuse to play with my Cuttlebug lol!!!I used Basic Grey Whisper Paper. The flourish is a Sizzix flower diecut which I have added gems to. The flower is made from Papermania & Prima petals. The ribbons are from my stash. I stamped my fave Tilda & added 2 mini heart gems to her jacket. The frame & sentiment stamps are from Cuddly Buddly.I took the main part of the front of the card & took it through to the inside. As it was an A5 landscape card I didn't want to add a new Magnolia image. x Clare xx

ABC Challenge........Quilting

Well I wasn't sure if I was going to do this challenge as me & my sewing machine just don't seem to gel. But I took the plunge & am pretty pleased with the result. So please be gentle with your comments lol!!!!I used the blue check card from my stash & the grey & white check was printed off my computer. The stitching is actually bright blue but looks black in the picture. The footballs were stamped using my D&D football stamp. Edwin was sent to me by a friend about a year ago. I am soo gonna have to get this stamp. I used a sentiment from the D&D Message set.I coloured the top of another Edwin & placed on a square of blue check. I then followed the front into the inside & placed a piece of white paper without any stitching. x Clare xx

Daisy & Dandelion Challenge #13 - Sketch By Heidi

Well we are all buzzing over at Daisy & Dandelion at the moment. We can't say too much except that there are some exciting things developing so you will have to stay with us to find out what's in store.
Now onto this week's challenge. We have an amazing sketch by Heidi this week, one I am determind to use again & again. It comes with the theme Black & White & again the DT have come up with some stunning cards. I thought I was going to struggle but am pleased with what I have come up with. The back layer is a Bo-Bunny Back to Back's card that I purchased a couple of years ago & I have teamed it with an Anna Griffin black & white Paisley paper purchased at the same time. The text is a rub-on that I got from Capture the Magic, layered onto a circle of white card. I have used my Candyfloss Diecut Decoupage just to add a splash of colour & layered him onto white card & another piece of Bo Bunny. The gems are Papermania Shimmer Dots & the flower was purchased from a bargain bin at Dunelm Mills. I have added a close up of the flower. They are quite big flowers & I have been dying to use one so this was a perfect excuse. I took the sketch through to the inside of the card which has worked really well. I do have to say though that it is strange now not listing what pens I have used lol!!!
I hope you can all drag yourselves away from the amazing sunshine we are having & join in with our challenge this week. x Clare xx

A Spoon Full of Sugar... Sketch

Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week there is a great sketch by Sonja. These sketches always really challenge me as I am not used to using more than a couple of papers but I'm determined to overcome my fear lol!!! I decided I would use the sketch to make a Father's Day card.I used my Whipper Snapper-King Cat stamp. I love this stamp & should probably use it a bit more often. I used my chalks round the edge of the image although it doesn't appear to show up too well. All the papers are from my Ultimate Christmas Paper Pack by HOTP that I bought from QVC a few years ago, but I thought they were the perfect masculine colours for this card. The buttons are from my stash & the Happy Father's Day is from the D&D Message tags. These are a fab buy at only 50p.I followed the sketch through to the inside & stamped an extra crown. x Clare xx
