Secret Crafter Challenge #5

This is the last of the challenge cards for today. This one has been a nightmare to make as the circle of snowflakes took forever to cut on the robo as it kept shutting itself down. But I got there in the end. The challenge was a sketch with a twist. You had to use the colours pink, brown & white. Here is the result.....
The card base is Papermania's silk screen card in Royal Metallic. The brown card is from my stash which I stitched stars onto using a pattern from Sam's site Cardstitching.co.uk. The snowflakes were cut out of white card stock on the robo using a template from UKScrappers. The ribbon is from my stash. Last but not least the adorable little mouse is created by Samantha Murphy at www.scrapbookingmad.com xx

4 Challenges....... 2 Cards

I could not believe my luck yesterday when I had a look at the Challenge Blogs. Cute Card Thursdays Challenge was Angels or Fairies. Well, the Fairie Poppetts had to come out of the folder.... I don't do Fairy Cards very often but when I do I go to town on them. I was able to combine it with the sketch Challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar. It just worked perfectly, & to finish it off the ABC Challenge was Pink. Well here is the result.........The base of the card is just white cardstock from my stash. Layered onto this is Papermania's Silk Screened Paper (sorry don't know the name of this one). You can't really pick it up but the next layer is Papermania's Spring Floral glitter embossed vellum. The sticky ribbon's are again from Papermania & are from the Floral Collection. I have repeated the layers on the rectangles as well. The Fairie Poppett has been decoupaged & glittered & I have added 3 flat pearls from my stash.
The 2nd card I made last night was for the Sketch Saturday Challenge #23.

Again I have used white cardstock to form the base of this card & used some Xmas tree paper from Dovecraft. The gold & green cardstock are Bazill 12x12 cardstock from my stash. The ribbon is from Papermania. The spirelli topper I made myself from gold glitter card & red thread. The doggie is from my stash which has been decoupaged xx

My Entries for Design Team Call

Last week Funkyfairyinspirations had a DT Call. The lucky "Fairy's" who were chosen were Sarah, Lana & Lesley. Congrats Girls. So I thought I ought to show you all my creations for the Challenge. We had to create 3 items using Funkyfairy products & I chose 3 free downloads. The 1st card is using . I got hubby to adapt a craft robo template for me so I could create a door aperture card. This is my 1st attempt at one of these. I wanted the illusion that you are stood indoors & looking out into the night. The door handle, keyhole & strip across the top of the letterbox are created with leftover bits of peel off. The Poinsetta is a 3d sticker that I got in a QVC kit about 2 years ago. The back of the door is the door aperture cut again in different colourd card & I sandwiched a piece of acetate between the 2 pieces to create the glass in the window. The letterbox was a piece of gold card sandwiched between the front & back of the door. Harry the Reindeer was decoupaged onto the inside of the card.
The 2nd item I created was a box using the Little Boy & Blue Xmas downloads. The Blue Xmas paper was printed onto cardstock & scored using my UCC. I decoupaged the Little Boy & secured him to the top of the box. I glittered the pompom on his hat & used a Turn Styles snowflake in the top corner.
The last card I made was using the Little Girl download.
The card is white cardstock & I cut a snowflake circle on my robo using a template that I downloaded from UKScrappers. This was cut on Aqua Sparkle paper from Inspire Me Papers. The little girl was then decoupaged, glittered & added to the corner of the card. A simple Merry Christmas peel off was then added to the centre.

Halloween.....

The challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar this week was to make a card for Halloween. Well, I have never done a halloween card before & wasn't even sure I was going to take part this week. Then I found a sheet that I had created 2 years ago & decided to have a go. Here is the result.....
The spot backing paper was from my favourite cd, am using this all the time at the moment, the white card & orange pearlescent paper were from my stash. The ribbon is from my stock & the decoupage sheet is the one I created from a tube by DS PSP Place.

N is for...... Nature

Wasn't too sure what I was going to do for this one but after a while of ploughing through all my decoupage sheets I finally found one that I wanted to do. So here is my card for this weeks ABC Challenge

Almost everything on the card is from my stash which is great. The decoupage of the tigers I think is just adorable. The "Happy Birthday" was cut on my robo using a template that I got from UKScrappers

This is the card I made from the layout. I used a white card base, with a blue glitter card layer on top. The diagonal layer is a xmas tree paper from a cardmaking cd that I seem to be using all the time at the moment. The blue striped paper is from a card kit by Debbie Astle. The square is stitched using a pattern from Sam's Shop, Cardstitching.co.uk. I have added gems to the stitching & na xmas tree 3d sticker from Crafty Bitz. 1st Card this week!

I have been laid up for 2 days this week with a mega migraine so I am totally behind in my challenge cards..... Hate it when I have to play catch up. Anyway the card I have got made is for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which can be found using the link on the right. The challenge this week was "Blue, White & a little bit of Snowflake". Well thats half of my Xmas cards made to date!!!! But I came up with a new card after seeing this gorgeous image.......

The image is from Tracey Miller of Fred,She Said, & I just couldn't resist it. The sentiment is also from the same set but I printed it out on my Dymo instead. The blue xmas tree background paper was downloaded off a cardmaking cd & cut with decorative scissors. The snowflake & star are from a sheet of embellishments from Crafty Bitz. The mini snowflake peel offs, gems & ribbon are all from my stash. xx

Not Very Cute.......

The Cute Card Thursday challenge this week was to make a Autumnal Card. Well I managed to get that bit right but I probably would have been better off submitting this card for the Male Challenge on ABC. Never mind thats what happens when you do one challenge at a time. Anyway here is the card I made.....
All the items used on this card were found in amongst my stash. I used the sketch from another challenge I entered recently but converted it to fit onto A5. The hardest part was to find some male orientated embellishments to go in the squares, so I ended up using peel offs xx

3 More challenges complete

Well I am really packing them in this week & loving every minute of it. I made 1 card that covered 2 challenges so I wandered off into blogland to find another one to do. So here's the 1st one I did....... the ABC Challenge was to do a card for a male, which I combined with the sketch challenge on Secret Crafter. To view their blogs clickon the links on the right.

The image was from a downloadable set that I got from a couple of years ago & was in the same set as the cat I used the other day. The rest of the things I used were all in my stash, so hubby is once again a very happy man.

The second card I made last night was using a sketch from a Spoonful of Sugar. This is the first time I have done one of their challenges & although the sketch looked quite complicated I am pleased with the way it has turned out.

The glittered vellum & gems are from Papermania, the snowflake paper is from Craft Creations. The sentiment in the corner is from a sheet from Fred,She Said. The rest of the bits I have used were from my stash.

Sketch #20

I really enjoyed using this sketch & I'm sure I will be using it again very soon. Thank you Sketch Saturday for another great challenge.
Here's my take on this sketch.

The backing paper is from a cardmaking cd that my mum has which I have glittered with irridescent glitter glue. I have then added a paper ribbon from the same cd. The church is a decoupage sheet that I had downloaded from Hobby Tool. I have then added 3 squares cut from the paper ribbon which I have glittered & added a gem in the centre.

L is for Lace......

Blimey, this one is right on the deadline. I can't believe how late I have left it. Anyway, this week on ABC Challenge, we were set L for Lace..... & here's my card

The paper , image & card are all from my stash. The bow was cut on my robo from a template on UKScrappers. The stitching pattern is from Sam at Cardstitching.co.uk

On a Roll

I'm on a roll tonight. This is my second challenge card & it is for a brand new challenge blog, called Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. Here is the card I created for this challenge. It will be given to my Mother In Law next week for her birthday. The image & green gingham backing paper is another set by Samantha Murphy. The daisy paper is a Paper Pizzaz from my stash. The celebrate is K & Co. The flowers are from my stash.

Sketch Challenge

Well I think I am at last catching up with the list of jobs I had for this week, a couple of things won't get posted on here till next week, don't want to spoil any surprises. I had a stall at a local airshow at the weekend & the Saturday was too windy to trade & Sunday was a washout so I was glad to get back home. Needless to say I haven't had much time for making cards.
However I have finally got round to doing the Sketch Saturday challenge. This has been set by Gill from the DT. The sketch looked reasonably easy until I decided to do it on A5 Landscape! Here is my interpretation of it. The backing paper & snowman are by Samantha Murphy at Scrapbookingmad.com. She has the most amazing downloads that I have seen for a while. The other bits & pieces were all in my stash, hubby will be happy that at last it is being used!!

Sketch Challenge

I made 2 cards for a sketch challenge on Craftcardscrappers for this month's challenge. Took a while to get my head round it but I did in the end. Still think there is definately plenty of room for improvement thoughThe card is a sheet of 12 x 12 Bazill Olive Green cardstock cut down to size & the paper is from Papermania's Simply Elegant collection. The "Are We There Yet" is from a K & Co TSV that I bought a year or so ago.

Here is the second card I did for the same challenge.Again I used 12 x 12 cardstock that I cut down to size, the red being the base colour. The corners of the

ATC Swap

Have done my ATCs today for a swap that I am involved in. This month were the letters M,N,O & P so I did Disney. I just love doing these ATCs, sometimes they are a lot easier than cards.

The first one I did is Mickey Mouse. I used a yellow card & embossed stars on it using a stencil & light box. I then added blue glitter to the dots. A small "M" dome sticker was placed in the corner.

I just love this Nemo one. I used 4 pictures & decoupaged them up. I had some 3D stickers of morning glory that were attached to some green covered wire, so very carefully I pulled the flowers of & attached the wire to give a seaweed effect. Again a dome sticker featuring the letter "N" was added to the corner.

I used a bit of Poetic license on this ATC. It is Roly from "One Hundred & One Dalmations" I used a plain white ATC & found a dalmation spot background. This was printed onto paper & stuck down. I then decoupaged Roly. As a knitter I have quite a bit of wool lying around I used a short strand of white glitter wool & a strand of black wool, punched a hole then threaded through. An "O" is again added in the corner.

This last one I kept fairly simple. Again pluto has been decoupaged & a small bee 3D sticker was added behind him. The "P" dome sticker was again added to the corner.

I've Finally Given In

I tried to do a blog a year or so ago & didn't have a clue what I was doing so I gave up, but now I thought I would give it a go again. Who knows, it might even work this time. Well I suppose I'd better start off by telling you all a bit about myself. I'm Clare, 35 & married to a wonderful guy called Rich who supports me in all my efforts to try & get somewhere in the world of crafting. I have 3 children, 2 of which live at home with me. I have 2 gorgeous cats & a rabbit. I have always crafted I suppose even when I was small we always had colouring books & I would spend many a summer tracing pictures & then colouring them in. I started doing Cross Stitch when I was living in Lancashire in 1992. I then took up Cardmaking in 2004 after I had exhausted my Cross Stitch by doing my Wedding Invitations. Since then I haven't looked back. I now along with everything else do Knitting & Pinflair as well.
