MAWTT - Challenge #6

Hi Everyone. It is a lovely sunny morning here in Essex & I am determind to get some serious crafting done today. We had a great response over at MAWTT last week & we have now got over 100 followers...... so thank you all for your support.

This week's prize is another one from me. I have just taken delivery of some fabulous decoupage sheets from Design House, so I am offering a choice of 10 sheets to this week's lucky winner. Here is a small sample of the sheets available.

If you want to check out these fab sheets click here

Right onto this week's sketch. I would love for you to create a card especially for a Man in Your Life as we know they can be so difficult lol!!!!! I am amazed with the cards the girls have come up with. Make sure you pop over to their blogs & check out their cards. And here is my card.......

The papers are all from HOTP Christmas papers. I just love the depth of colours in these sheets & they are just perfect for men's cards. I added the peel off border just to give the centre a bit of definition. The image is a decoupage sheet by La Pashe. I have used an aeroplane charm from my stash & attached it with glue gel. The sentiment stamp is from Cuddly Buddly.

I took the sketch through to the inside of the card again, but I swapped the centre papers round & used a smaller oval.

Hope you will have the time to take part in this week's challenge & will be looking forward to seeing all your creations. Off to get the washing hung out now. xx Clare x

Stamps & Smiles SASSC25 / Cute Card Thursday

I am sooo pleased with getting another 2 challenges entered this week. This card I have made uses the sketch from Stamps & Smiles. I just love their sketches as they are totally uncomplicated. The second challenge is Cute Card Thursday who want you to use Eyelets on your card. So here is the card I made.....I used my pink pearlescent card from my stash to get the 6x6 base. Onto this & it hurt me to do so I took a 6x6 embossed card that I had got from Inspire Me & cut it in half. Once I got over my sweats I used my Sizzix embossing folder & embossed my pink parche marque paper. I used gold ink to stamp my Anita's Wedding Wish stamp (not sure of it's correct name) onto some more pink parche marque paper & layered it onto a scrap of gold glitter card. I added my white ribbon & added the bow using my white heart organza, both from my stash. After searching for 2 hours (yes 2 hours) for my eyelet tool I finally added 3 gold heart eyelets.
Here is a close up of my stampSorry about the quality of the photo. I have a new photo booth & the lighting needs a bit of getting used to.
I haven't posted a picture of the inside of the card as I just added some more pink paper as an insert. x Clare xx

Mum's Birthday Card

I needed to make a birthday card for my Mum for Saturday & I thought I would combine it with a couple of challenges. The 1st challenge I used was A Spoon Full of Sugar. They want you to use swirls on your card this week. Well I think I have covered that one lol!!! The next challenge I have used is ABC Challenge. Their DT member Helen has created a sketch containing an X. Why not pop over & see for yourselves. I think Mum will really like what I have done with her card. The swirl bp is a double sided scrapbook card & is available from my shop. The blue swirl & paisley paper is from Pollycraft. The pink stripe paper is Urbanlily & the circle is cut from a sheet of Basic Grey. The zebra is a download from Tinker & Co. The flowers were off a diecut sticker sheet by Basic Grey & I punched holes in the centres to go with the sketch. The black ribbon is from my stash.I took the sketch through to the inside of the card & added another image of Kingston the Zebra. x Clare xx

MAWTT - Challenge #5 - Hazel's Challenge

A big Thank You for all the great cards we had entered into our challenge last week. This week's sketch & challenge has been set by Hazel. She has chosen the theme "Cute As A Button". I must admit I really enjoyed making this week's card. I am also sponsoring this week's challenge & putting up for grabs this adorable Pink Gem Designs stamp. They are available from me by Mail Order. Just drop me an email & I will send you out a catalogue.
For my card this week I have used this adorable decoupage sheet called William by the pond by Design House. The background paper is by HOTP. I have created the panel down the side by layering a strip of blue & cream card from my stash & added a piece of daisy paper from the D&D picnic pad. I added gems to the centre of the daisies. I used my Glitter Girls board to emboss the oval behind William. I used my gold Liquid Pearls just to enhance the centres of the daisies that are next to William in the picture. The daisies across the top are from Papermania & I have added Dovecraft brads to their centres. The sentiment is from a HOTP TSV from a couple of years ago & the flower gem with wire is by CraftyBitz.
I apologise for the quality of the inside of my card. I took the photo 3 times & it still blurred. Anyway I used the same background paper for the inside of the card & added another strip of D&D paper down the side. This time I added gold Sparklies to their centres. The cream & white panels are from my stash & I punched the corners with my inverse corner punch. I added a layer of William to the edge of the card.I have to admit I have got a bit carried away with William & decided to make a window hanger with him too. I added a couple of daisies to the top & used green Stickles for their centres. A strip of D&D paper was added behind him & I found this butterfly in my Embellishment drawer. I added the word "Dream" using gold peel offs.

Just before I go don't forget to check out the other fab DT cards this week. They have worked really hard to produce some inspiring cards. Just use the links in my sidebar. x Clare xx

Pollycraft Challenge #20

Woo hoo I actually got a challenge card made this week & I am sooooo pleased with it. Over at Pollycraft they have a gorgeous sketch with the theme of Food or Drink. They are now running their challenge where you can use any image you like but as I just adore the images Paula creates I am happy to carry on using them. Here is the gorgeous sketch from Lynsey. And here is my card.

I used the image of Benji & coloured him in with my usual pens. The papers are by HOTP. The card that Benji is layered on is from Crate Paper. I decided to do something different with the sketch & cut the card across the 2 lines where the stripey paper is. The 2 balloons in the corner are from a sheet of stickers that I have had lying around for years now. I added a bit of twisted wire with beads on that I had cut off a embellie.
On the inside of the card I added another strip of HOTP paper & added a 2nd cake. The sentiment is from Craft Creations. The paper in the centre of the card has been punched with my new "favourite tool", an inverse corner punch. I have added a couple more balloons in the corner.
Why not pop back tomorrow & see what this week's challenge is over at MAWTT xx Clare x

Better Late than Never!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is Monday already & I am only just posting my DT card from last week. I will not bore you with too many details but I had a seriously busy week last week. I was out Sun, Mon & Tues with hubby. Weds & Thurs were spent catching up with the housework, emails etc. Then Friday was my Wedding Anniversary & hubby surprised me at 5.30am with a day long trip out to my Mum's to get her sofas that she no longer wanted as she had had new ones delivered 2 days before. We then had a Chinese & Champagne that evening. Then the weekend was spent rearranging the whole of the downstairs to accommodate said sofas. So here I am Monday afternoon finally posting my card. I didn't even get chance to decorate the inside this week.
Anyway our sketch this week was by our lovely Heidi. She has added the optional theme of Wedding or Anniversary..... so why not pop along & join in. This week's prize has been donated again by Julie. The papers have been taken from Creative Cardmaking issue 3. The image is a great freebie from Pollycraft. As I needed to fit it into the circle I did the bird's seperately so I could drop them down onto the fence rather than on the posts. The flowers are from my stash & I added gems to the flower centres. The panel is a piece of gold glitter card from my stash which I have layered up with a blue gingham ribbon & a white ribbon with irridescent circles. The sentiment stamp is from Cuddly Buddly & I have used my new inverse corner punch to create the scalloped background.
I promise that normal service will be resumed this week. Why not check out the rest of the DT cards including new member Lisa xx Clare x

MAWTT - Challenge #3

Blimey I don't know where the week seems to go at the moment. So much for me getting some challenges done. Anyway the sun is back out today & we have had no rain so this week's sketch & theme is just perfect. We had a great response to our DT call last week & will be announcing the winner later. This week's prize has been donated by our resident sponser JB Crafting Supplies. So onto this week's sketch, which has been designed by Heidi. She has chosen the theme of the beach to go with her sketch. I was a bit wary of the sketch this week but am really pleased with the way it has turned out.The stripey paper is from Issue 4 of Creative Cardmaking magazine. If you haven't seen this mag it is well worth getting. You will even see a piccy of our Heidi in it this week as Crafts U Love are celebrating their 3rd birthday. The The sand paper is from the Masculine Collection by Dovecraft. The 2 squares are from the Christmas Collection by HOTP. I have used the little mouse & sandcastle which again were freebies from Issue 4 & are Crafters Companion mice by Jane Nesterenko. The fish I took off some tags that I had in my stash, added a tag with ribbon & the gems are Bling from Kanban. For the inside of the card I took the papers through from the front & I decided to add the mouse's little jacket to the centre of the squares.
I hope you have time to join us this week. x Clare xx

MAWTT - Challenge #2

Thank you all for your fab response last week to our 1st challenge. Your cards were awesome. This week is my sketch, the first one I have ever done, so it's all a bit scary. I have tried to cool you all down this week with an optional colour combination of Ice Blue & White. The winner of this week's challenge will be a Guest Designer on the blog.Cuddly Buddly recently brought out a great new range of digistamps, stamps & decoupage & I just had to have a play with Thinking Bee. I was a bit worried about colouring him in as I am not very clever when it comes to doing things like blending colours but I think he has come up okI have used a papermania 12x12 cardstock called Blue Vintage Floral which has this great foiled flourish design on it. I added a circle of Static by Crate Paper behind my image. The flourish was cut on my bug using a Sizzix Flower Die & the flower is made up from 2 Prima Painterley Petals & a Dovecraft jewelled brad. I added some Kanban gems to the flourish. The ribbon is made from 3 layers, the blue & gold wired (available here ), a length of blue which I picked up at a show & the bow is made from white organza (also available here ). I coloured the Thinking Bee with my usual assortment of pens & added Star Dust Stickles to his wings. The sentiment stamp is from Cuddly Buddly.
Here's a closer look at the bee.

I have followed the sketch through to the inside adding the gems to the flourish, but decided to leave off the bow & flower as they make the inside of the card too bulky. x Clare xx
